Press Release
2nd of February, 2009
TREX is pleased to host a workshop on multi-exit BGP together with sponsors Juniper Networks and Cisco Systems. The workshop will be of value to anyone interested in arranging multiple peering or transit locations in their network, and anyone interested in peering at TREX Tampere Region Exchange.
Multi-exit BGP refers to the case where two operators have multiple interconnections in different places, such as on internet exchanges in different cities. Adopting this practise often warrants a rethinking of traffic engineering and peering policies.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 12th 2009 at the Hermia1 Auditorium in Tampere from 12:00 to 17:00.
Fifth Anniversary
TREX also celebrates having been in operation for over five years. TREX has participated in a few research and development projects during those five years, including the Dependability of IP Networks project. Right now TREX is preparing to facilitate test bed interconnections for the ICT SHOK Future Internet research programme.
