TREX Workshop 2012

TREX was pleased to host a seminar on Data Centres and World IPv6 Launch results together with sponsors Alcatel-Lucent, Brocade, Cisco Systems, flexOptix and Rittal Oy. The seminar was held on Friday the 14th of September 2012 at Villa Vintti in Kehräsaari (google map) in Tampere from 12:00 to 17:00 and continued as a networking event in their sauna department. The seminar was of value to anyone interested in building data centres or adopting IPv6, and of course to everyone interested in peering at TREX Regional Exchanges Oy.

The global demand for cloud services and content distribution networks has created a surge in data centre construction and innovation. Finland has become one of the favourite countries for building data centres due to the cool climate, cheap energy and proximity to big markets. This seminar will include presentations covering both the physical and logical aspects of designing a data centre.

The World IPv6 Launch was on the 6th of June 2012. The basic idea of that event was that participating organizations enabled IPv6 in their products and services for good. This seminar will have a bunch of presentations dealing with the results and experiences from participating organizations.
